LUCKY day
Considering I started out the day at 6am, only to step (in the dark) into a large pile of doggie poop, my day actually turned out pretty great.
A few months ago a local Atlanta editor for Lucky Magazine contacted me after seeing my items at The Beehive. I sent some scooter cards from my Vroom Set to their NY office to be photographed and ....voila! here they are.
Thanks to a Twitter buddy and my next door neighbor, I was alerted that InkSpot Workshop had made the news stand. Even though my little feature is just in the Atlanta circulation, it's still fun to see your name in print.
Thanks LUCKY!

"Ink"spiration Everywhere!

So I've been getting in the creative mood again which is a great thing. I find myself getting inspired by just about everything in my surroundings. Here is my latest example... First I bought this cute little purse from Sage Saks, then I saw these gorgeous pillows in a magazine, voila my new Old World Damask note cards were born.
I also forgot to mention I was a child in the 1970's and this was very popular velvet wallpaper, in fact my childhood home had it plastered in just about every room! looked great with the shag carpet.

2009 - Year Of The MIMOSA
It's been officially declared! 2009 is not the year of the monkey, it is the year of the MIMOSA! At least according to Pantone. They chose this color, Pantone 14-0848 Mimosa {to be exact} because it "embodies hopefullness and reassurance in a climate of change.} I agree. Who doesn't like this bright, cheery color?
I'll take mine with extra Champagne please!!
So glad to be ahead of the curve for once. This is my office under redesign as we speak. I did opt to keep the wall color because it energizes my creative juices.
InkSpot Workshop's answer to hopefullness and all of the bad news we are bombarded with every day. Sunday, September 21, 2008
Website Envy!
I've got a BIG BAD case of website envy thanks to the new Sarah & Abraham website, just launched by fellow Etsy seller, Sara Tams. Sara is a true inspiration to all Etsy sellers. Her shop is not even a year old and has over 1,200 sales, which is a very high number in Etsy terms. When I first started out this past April, Sara graciously and patiently answered as many questions as I could toss her way. It is also because of her that I now am a blogger:)
I've been anxiously waiting to see her new site and now that It's here, I'm speechless {which if you know me, is a rare occasion} When she first mentioned in her blog that she was seeking out the expertise of web designer Aeolidia, I was half expecting the new site to be reminiscent of a children's fairy tale book. Now that I see the finished product, all I can say is I WANT ONE TOO:*
Check it out http://www.sarahandabraham.com/. You will see her signature children's line of stationery and prints, plus be introduced to some new fun stuff.
I wish you well Sara! Thanks for all your help and continued success!!

Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market - July 8-16
I can hardly believe it, most of my working adult life has been spent as an exhibitor at boring trade shows of all types {copiers, food service, medical}. Since opening InkSpot Workshop, this past April, I've been tuned into a completely different segment of trade shows. By far...any trade show that is based on paper and/or gifts, is cause for celebration!! I never thought I would be excited to attend any trade show, so can you just imagine when my little business actually grows enough and I'm a real live exhibitor in one? Perhaps the Holy Grail of all stationery shows in NYC? ok, give me a few years:) Bungalow's Showroom was showing off these cool bags from Scout. Pattern shown is called Dots Bots - all Scout bags are virtually indestructible {even for my 2 year old?} and water resistant - made from a lightweight poly woven reinforced material. This will be my next purchase!
They have a whole line of lively, colorful products made out of this incredible fabric .

Sweet Juniper Guerrero of TIGO gifts is the brains and beauty behind the latest knit kraze! Her packaging is fun and cheeky - like Cap Puccino shown above, everything you need to knit a Cap comes inside the cup. She also has a Szechuan Scarf and of course it comes in a Chinese takeout box.Move over Jo Malone, here comes ZENTS! Don't you just love the name? Literally breathtaking, this line is made up of eau de toilettes, candles, soaps and everything else you need in the bath, plus more. All of the ZENTS scents are able to be layered for that combo effect, which is easy when they are simple like earth, fig, ore, pear and petal to name a few.
Next a little shout out for my fellow Atlanta peeps at Whimsy Press, the retail outlet for Current. They have extremely creative design concepts and have them incorporated into everything from onesies, journals, note cards and double sided wrapping paper, my personal favorite. Anyone with a pink, green and grown logo is ok in my book! I'm only just getting to know them and when I grow up I want Current to design my website:) The designer must be my age because when I saw the Space Invader wrapping paper, I instantly thought... do they have that in Centipede too?
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the show.
