Stickyfingers

Happy Sunday and welcome to this week's edition of Stickyfingers, brought to you by InkSpot Workshop's blog...The Spotter. Up this week are three eye catching projects, requiring varying degrees of craft skills...a little somethin' for everyone:) I aspire to inspire so go make something! Most importantly, just have fun.

The queen of crafty caught my eye with these do-it-yourself Etched Glass Storage Jars, but her tutorial was a little weak. Click here for simple, printable instructions on how to etch glass.

My crush on Erin Vale's designs continues...click and print these most adorable address labels right here.

Nothing says Summer Fun! like these festive Confetti Ice-Cream Pops, compliments of Delish.

iCANDY - 51st Edition

Greetings from Sandy, Utah! For those of you who don't know where Sandy is, it's located approximately 30 minutes from Salt Lake City and is also where the TV show Big Love, takes place. I've been out here all week for some sales training {per orders from my day job} and the view is just amazing, wouldn't you agree? Too bad we've spent long days inside a meeting room with no windows:( Can you say stir crazy??

The awe inspiring Wassatch Mountain range out here has definitely influenced my iCANDY feature today. All of the Etsy artists I've selected call Salt Lake City, Utah their home. Apparently they have the talent to make their goodies as beautiful as their surroundings. Enjoy!

1. Just Married Wedding Poster - ElloThere $75.00
2. Tattoo Octopus T-Shirt - Phipps Art $19.00
3. Fabric Banner - Addie Bugs $20.00
4. Roxy Necklace - 87 Photography $16.00
5. Flock of Birds Wall Decal - Tasty Suite $19.00
6. Crocheted Beanie - Crabby Crochet $12.00

Stickyfingers - Pet Edition

The dog days of Summer have me thinking about pets today, although it's only 61 degrees and starting to feel like Fall. Hope you enjoy these pet friendly projects and get a little inspired to GO MAKE SOMETHING:)

Nothing says I love you like a good game of tug-of-war. Now you can make your pooch his very own Dish Towel Toy. Real Simple shows you how here.

Cool off your little pupper with some homemade Mini Fruity Popsicles for Dogs. They look so good I'm sure humans would like them just as much! Thank you Small Dogs Paradise for this recipe.

Remember Shrinky Dinks when you were a kid? Use sheets of this wonderful shrinking plastic to make your own Pet Tags. Craft Stylish gives you an easy tutorial here.

Designs?

Since launching InkSpotWorkshop.com on August 1, my 2 inch kid's gift stickers have been super popular. Right now I have a pretty limited offering of design choices and that's because when you have ADD like me:) something has to stop you from getting on a creative streak and putting 1,000 designs to choose from up on your site!

Today I come to you seeking HELP and ADVICE. As mommies, grandmas, aunts, sisters, friends, teachers, etc.. what types of designs would you like to see made for both girls and boys? Basically what would you purchase? I'm looking for any and all input and as a special bonus, if I end up using your suggestion, of course you will receive a free set of stickers! Thanks in advance for your help.

Pantone Out Of The Box

Small Business 101

As a small business owner plus full time medical sales representative in the USA, it is imperative to FULLY understand the economic impact each and every administration has on your own bottom line. It is also important to look beyond what the "talking heads" are saying and try to educate yourself on the topics most important to you and your family.

I just stumbled upon this "fictitious" speech given to a room full of "fictitious automotive store employees" and boy, all I can say is this speech {in layman's terms} does a better than fantastic job of illustrating the truth behind how small businesses incur expenses, taxes and health insurance. Most importantly, it gives a mighty clear picture of what our future might look like if we don't step up and get a CLUE.

Stickyfingers

Welcome to this week's edition of Stickyfingers, brought to you by InkSpot Workshop's blog...The Spotter. I've hand selected these DIY crafts just for you and hope you get inspired to go MAKE something! Enjoy

I'm a sucker for scents and never want the same perfume everyone is wearing. I just discovered Sweet Anthem handmade perfume oils and am in love with them! Lori is what I'm wearing right now in fact. Meredith of Sweet Anthem was generous enough to put together the most well instructed tutorial I have ever seen on how to make your own perfume. Thank you IndieFixx for posting this.

How about sprucing up your front porch with a new braided doormat? The Queen shows you how right here.

Have tons of empty boxes lying around and could use some extra storage? How about turning those boxes into pretty fabric covered storage boxes? Made By Petchy shows you how here.

Free Lunch!

It's been a while since we've had a FREE LUNCH here on the spotter so in order to help ease the pain of this "recession" we're serving up a hearty portion today. Hope you're hungry because we surely have something for y'all to sink your teeth right into...

How about a $50.00 gift certificate to use at the newly launched http://www.inkspotworkshop.com/? Or are you hungry for some bath goodies, compliments of Sweet Petula? How about both? Yepper, I said BOTH!

All you need to do in order to try your luck at winning both is to click on over to both InkSpotWorkshop and Sweet Petula, sit back and take a look around. Then come back here and let us know how you would use your winnings. You get bonus points for suggesting items you'd like to see in our shops for the up coming holidays.

The winner will be chosen and notified via e-mail on Monday, August 17th - so please make sure to leave a way to contact you. Once notified you will receive a code to activate your $50.00 InkSpot Workshop gift certificate, plus your choice of scents (Sea Spa, Ruby Grapefruit or Lavender) for both a Sweet Petula Aromamist and Hand & Body Balm. You all know I'm a huge fan of Sweet Petula and my bed is not ready for sleeping until I spray my sheets with the Lavender Aromamist. She also writes a gorgeous blog, click here to check it out.

Best of luck to you all and remember... there really IS such a thing as a FREE LUNCH!

Stickyfingers

First I must apologize for missing last week's edition of Stickyfingers, as I was busy launching my new site InkSpotWorkshop.com.

I trust you all had a fabulously crafty week and are ready for a few new ideas that will hopefully inspire you to go make something! Below are a few projects that caught my attention this week on the web. As always, if you make something you found here on Stickyfingers, please share with me. Send photos to info@inkspotworkshop.com, I'd love to feature your finished project, here on The Spotter.

Finding it hard to keep it all together? How about this free, printable To Do List, designed by Stephanie Fizer? Just click here for the download. Thanks Moddish for this easy project.

For the true craftster looking for a bit of a challenge... here is a thorough tutorial on how to make a Linoleum Block Print. You can print your own wrapping paper, wall prints, stationery, the sky is the limit. Just click here. Thank you Lizzy House.

Nothing reminds me of summers as a kid in the 1970's as making Lanyard Keychains! We used to have arts and crafts at Clague Park in North Olmsted, Ohio and these were always a hit. I would spend hours perfectly weaving those little strips of leather into crazy square and corkscrew shapes. Oh, I can still smell that leather. Thank you Design*Sponge for the trip down memory lane.

E-I-E-I-OOOO

I just love it when someone asks me to do a custom invitation based upon one of my designs. This crafty mommy (in her own right) asked me to make my Old MacDonald set into a special birthday invitation for her little guy, because they were having a red barn themed party at a local park. Of course I couldn't resist and just look how adorable this party turned out! My favorites are the cupcake toppers and oh...those fun silverware sets. Such a lovely family, thanks for sharing the special day with us.
